Snowflakes and Snow Woman

This is my last post as one of July's Sweet 'n Sassy Guest Designers.  I wish to thank Korin and team for this wonderful opportunity.  I have had a great time using your wonderful sets and can now say I have tried and enjoyed digi stamps!!

This darling image just steals my heart every time I see it so I had to finish off with a snow woman!!  I made a very conscious decision not to use blues on this snow themed card and went with lots of pink instead -- she is a snow woman after all :)

I glittered her hat and the "snow" and then added some punched snowflakes with bling in the middle around the image, despite the fact I used the snowflake embossing folder in the background, as they gave a little extra "umph" to the card and balanced it off nicely.  A perfect, girly Christmas card :)

August Gladiolas

Good morning!  I have a card to share with you today from the flowers of the month collection at Sweet -n Sassy Stamps.  This beautiful August Gladiola stamp is full of beautiful details, and is so much fun to color.  I chose neutral colors to go along with this beautiful paper, but it would be beautiful done in any color. I cut the image out and popped it up on foam dimensionals for added depth and interest.

It's so nice to have cards like this hand for birthdays, or thinking of you, get well, or whatever you may need a quick, general card for.  Have a beautiful day, and happy stamping!

Hugs,
Lorie

Books to Read

I love to read. Hence, the reason I've become a librarian. I have lots of friends who like to read as well, so I was playing around with an idea for a little gift for book lovers. Here's what I came up with.
I took a little spiral bound notebook (I think someone gave me this one, but they are probably less than a dollar a piece at the store.) I covered the front with some pretty designer papers. Then, I wrapped a ribbon around it and added this adorable digi image from SNS called Milton Reading. What's not to love...a mouse, a flower, a book...perfection! I colored it with my copics, added the sentiment, and some colorful ribbons tied to the spiraled wire. Now, it's ready for me or a friend to fill with those books on my wish list. Yes, I probably will need all those pages for my wish list, though I'll never have the time to get to all of them! This would also be a cute way to tuck in a little gift card for Amazon.com or Barnes and Noble.
Cheers!

Single layer Gladiolas Card

I love making single layer stamping only cards. I pulled out the August Gladiola flower and decided to stamp it repeatedly across my card front on top of already subtly patterned paper. I then went back over my flowers, pretty lightly, with Prismacolor pencils to make the flowers pop.I decided to leave the pencil unblended for a softer look. I added the sentiment that comes in the set, punched a butterfly and added a pierced butterfly trial and punched the edge of my panel. I think it came out really pretty but is very mail friendly. I hope you have a wonderfully creative day!

For today's card I once again used the Autumn Lovin' Cocoa set. I choose to make a fall card but I think he would make a cute back to school card too! I did alot of sponging and wrapped it will some twine and finished it with a button.

I Love You Not Only For....

I absolutely love the sentiment on this card (no pun intended LOL!).  We all need people  in our lives who encourage us to be the best we can be, who bring out aspects of our personality that nobody else does, who challenge us, who accept us just the way we are, warts and all, and who just make us shine  :)   This card is a tribute to all the people in my life who do that for me!

Since this sentiment has such a lovely "soft" font, I wanted to keep this card pretty CAS.  I chose to use this wonderful, understated DP so it wouldn't overpower the sentiment  panel.  The "bumps" of the heart were a bit bare and needed a little something so I filled one of them with some grosgrain and a button - again keeping it low key so as not to detract from the sentiment.  Some sheer, red ribbon balanced things off wonderfully and I can't wait to give this to one of my friends :).

Have a fabulous week and why not take some time to thank a person in your life who exemplifies this sentiment -- you'll no doubt make their day :D

True Friend

Good morning! Today I have a card to show you made with this pretty little princess. :) Isn't she so cute? She is a digital stamp under the name of "Heart Princess". I had a lot of fun coloring her!

The card can pretty much speak for itself... The pink paper is from a Debbie Mumm paper pack called Noah's Ark. I'm loving that DP!! :) The sentiment is from the Sweet 'n Sassy clear set "Poppies and Greetings".

Have a great weekend, and thanks for looking!

Vintage Rose

I love the Sweet N Sassy birth month stamps!!! I think my 2 favorite are the new August Gladiola and the June Rose which I am going to show you today. The upcoming September flower is a beauty as well. Now of course you don't have to just use them in the particular month lol. They are so versatile and you will be grabbing for them time and again. I tend to be a very symmetrical clean lines type of girl so today I tried something a bit out of my comfort zone- vintage. I hope you like it.

I may have gone a tad overboard with the distressing but overall I like how it came out. I colored my rose with copics, crumpled the paper, and then further distressed with distress inks. The edges were distressed with scissors, inked, and then stickles were added to the edges also. The paper strip across the middle is distressed and pleated.

Here is a bit of a closer look

Today is a beautiful sunshiny day in my neck of the woods- I hope your day is filled with sunshine and many blessings! Thanks for stopping.

To Have and To Hold...

Well, it's that time of year when weddings are in abundance! A joining of two people in the eyes of God can be a beautiful event. Today, my card uses the newly released stamp set called "Wedding Day" which features fabulous sentiments, a beautiful wedding cake and bells. I used a 3D effect on my card where I stamped the image three times, then cut out various portions and layered it with pop up dots! It's a fun technique and really adds a WOW factor to your card! I added some pretty lace trim because it looks like icing!!

May God enrich your week!
Hugs, Darsie

Autumn Blessings

Hello and Happy Tuesday!! Today's card uses the new Autumn Lovin' Cocoa set. I love this stamp!! Cocoa is so darn cute and I love that long neck pumpkin. I colored with my copic markers and then softly sponged ink around the image while it was still in the spellbinders die. I just Love making Fall cards!

Thanks for stopping by and I'll be back again next Tuesday for my final week as guest designer , where has the month gone??!!

Customer Spotlight Sunday

Welcome back to another Spotlight Sunday! This week we're highlighting this amazing card, created by Nancy Kirk.

Nancy is using one of my all time favorite sets, Everyday Miracles. (Everyday Miracles is available as an acrylic stamp set or as a digi set!) I just can't get enough of butterfly images and this set has two amazing ones along with a number of delightful sentiments. Nancy did a fantastic job with this bold red and white card and the red butterfly is the perfect embellishment!

Enjoy today's card and a great big thank you to Nancy for letting us spotlight your card this week!

I Love Snow Friends

I wanted to use this sketch a few weeks ago when Mercy first posted it, but life won the battle...again...hate when that happens!  No worries though, because as it turned out, it was the perfect sketch for my cute little Sweet 'n Sassy snow girl!   I just love this image.  It's another one from the Snow Friends set that I love because the images just make me smile :)

After loading the picture to the post, I realized the colour combination is basically the same as one of my other snowman cards.....sorry!   I obviously tend to gravitate towards this colour combo when I make a snow themed card!  I added a touch of silver to this one and kept the splash of pink.  Some Swiss Dots for my snowy background, some pink ribbon, a snowflake, and some buttons for accents to finish off a definitely girly, Christmas card LOL!

Have a fabulous weekend and thanks for popping in today.

Lovely Gladiola

Morning everyone and happy Friday!! Today, I'm thrilled to share a recently released image from the brand new Gladiola stamp set. This beautiful set is part of the monthly floral sets that Sweet 'n Sassy has been carrying since January. Do you have the entire collection yet? I'm working on it! :-) This month's set comes with this beautiful gladiola image along with five sentiments for $9.00.

To create my card, I stamped the gladiola image twice on white cardstock and then colored the three large flowers on one of the images and only the buds on the other. I cut out the three large blooms and attached them to the main background image using foam tape. Love that extra dimension! The lovely paper that has been paired with the gladiola image is from Basic Grey, the tiny rhinestones are from Little Yellow Bicycle, and the layout is from Mojo Monday.

Enjoy today's card an enjoy your weekend!!

More Baby Fun!

Hello friends!

I have a sweet baby card to share with you today using the adorable Precious Baby clear stamp set. Isn't this image wonderful? I was *so* excited to see it come out in clear stamp form!! This was really a quick card to put together. I simply colored my image with copics, cuttlebugged my little green layer and put together a flower stack and sentiment. I used the sketch from Our Creative Corner, so I didn't even have to think about that! If you haven't taken the time lately to check out all the new sets at the Sweet n Sassy store, you really should! There are new clear sets arriving weekly!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Blessings!

Precious Baby is a Gift From God

I everyone, Randi here. I am a newbie to Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and loving every minute of it. Today I have a card made with this week's new clear release Precious Baby. It comes with this sweet image and six sentiments. As a digi you receive this image and a sentiment saying "Welcome Precious Baby". I colored it with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol onto kraft card stock. My dear friend is going to be a grandmother any day now to a little girl and I had her in mind as I created it. Her son is a Marine so kraft, green, and pink are a perfect combination, don't you think?

Have a wonderful rest of the week new friends!
Hugs,
Randi

There's "snow"one Quite Like You

I have gone from 30C and a water park to -10C and a snow scene in the course of 24 hours LOL!  Our family did our annual jaunt to the Cultas Lake water park yesterday and now I am making a card with snowmen on it LOL!

I totally fell in  love with this adorable snow couple the minute I laid eyes on them!  You can't help but smile when you see this image :D  That being said, it just had to use them for today's card.  An OCC sketch from a few weeks back became my layout and I had a lot of fun using my new Seeing Spots embossing folder!  I am more than slightly addicted to my Swiss Dots embossing folder and now I have one with large dots to play with too!  I thought the dots looked like snowballs and fit the theme so I used it instead of my snowflake folder.

The image is coloured with Twinkling H2Os and I added some sparkle for snow and also sparkled her ear muff and the brim and pompom on his hat though it is a bit hard to see in the picture.  The sentiment and bow balance each other off and the snowflakes on the scallops finished things off nicely.

Thanks for dropping by today :)  Have a fabulous week and see you next Saturday.

I Thought Of You Today

Good morning!  I hope this beautiful day finds you ready for a great weekend.  My card today is one I whipped up using the Thoughts of You clear stamp set, but these images are also available in digital.  I used the masking technique to get the flowers inside the watering can, and the image was colored with Copic markers.

Sunflowers are one of my favorite summer flowers.  They always signify the end of summer for me, and it won't be long before we'll be seeing these beauties in bloom for real.  I love this I Thought Of You Today sentiment, as it works so well for many of your card giving needs.

Wishing you a glorious day filled with lots of love and happy stamping!

A Little Spot of Tea

I'm quite fond of tea. Southerner that I am, I love it iced, but there is nothing more soothing than a hot cup tea, also. So I was super excited when Tea Time Cocoa was released as a digi and as a clear stamp set with some great sentiments. I thought this would make a super image on a tea cup-shaped card.
After cutting out the card with my Cricut, I embossed it with a Cuttlebug embossing folder, gave it a little glamor with some Smooch Pearlized Top Coat , and added a little elegance with some adhesive pearls. Cocoa and his tea cup are colored with copics. I used the clear stamp set with this including the little sentiment tag. You can also find this as a digi if you can't wait for it to arrive in the mail! Cocoa is always loads of fun to color!
Cheers!

Monochromatic Fun

Hi there! Hope you are all having a wonderful week so far:) I have had this fun hot air balloon image printed off for some time now and finally got around to playing with it and decided to go for a monochromatic look. I colored the image with Copics, and added some Clear Star gelly roll glitter around the inside edges of my clouds. I had fun with my ribbon, pleating it as I sewed it onto my card, love the look! The sentiment is from a soon to be released clear set (also available as a digi) called Sunny Squirel. I hope your day is full of sunshine! Be blessed...

Sunshine & Daisies

Hello and Happy Tuesday!! My name is Janice and I'm honored to be one of the Guest Design team members for the month of July! Thanks so much Korin and Kim. I'm so excited and looking forward to sharing my cards with you this month.

For today's card I used the Everyday Miracles stamp set and the April Daisy digi stamp. These are both available in either digi or stamp form. I cut out the butterfly and popped it up with some pop dots. I softly sponged around the daisies and added some stickles to the centers for some added sparkle.

Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you next Tuesday!!

Serene Silhouette Blessings

Sometimes I like to color and sometimes I don't feel like it or I don't have the time. There is a brand new set released today that is perfect for the days that I just want to stamp and not color and I absolutely LOVE it!! It is called Serene Silhouettes and it is perfect for both feminine and masculine cards. The set has 4 main images and some accessory images also. Today I am showing you one of the main images and one of the accessories from the set.

I stamped my silhouette with dark chocolate ink and sponged around it with moss ink while still in the nestabilies die. I added a sentiment from the poppies and greetings set and accented the card with both brown and white pearls. The layout for my card is the mojo Monday sketch for this week.

This new set is one that you are sure to love and a must-have to add to your collection! I am so glad that you were able to stop by today. Hope your day is filled with "Many Blessings".

Customer Spotlight Sunday

Welcome to another Customer Spotlight Sunday! Since today is the 4th of July and we're celebrating in the U.S., how about a sweet celebratory Cocoa card?

Today's card was created by Cheryl, over at She Stamps....isn't it precious?! Great colors, great sparkle, great coloring...what's not to like! I'm partial to the pom-pom on the top of the birthday hat...isn't it cute the way Cheryl cut out that portion, popped it up, and added sparkle...it's perfect!

Cheryl's card is showcasing the Party Hat Cocoa image, which is available as a digi image for only $3.00! Wouldn't this be a great image to add to your growing Cocoa collection? ;-)

Cheryl, thank you for letting us share your card today! We wish everyone a wonderful 4th of July!

I'll Love You Until...

Hello everyone.  It's a wonderful honour to be one of this month's Sweet and Sassy Guest Designers!  Thanks Kim!!  I had never used digi stamps before making this card, and it has been a wonderful experience.  I love how you can adjust the size of the image you are working with to fit your needs - the possibilities are endless!

Our 14th anniversary was on July 1st (which is also Canada Day so hubby has no excuse for forgetting our anniversary LOL!) so love was still in the air when I made this card.  I selected Love Sentiments 1 as it has a wonderful mix of fonts and sentiments.  I can see myself using this set for Valentine's Day, weddings, anniversaries, and even encouragement.  I paired the set with this Stamping 411 sketch.  Though I modified it to fit my needs, the basic sketch fundamentals are still there.  In addition, I dipped into this week's Playdate Cafe colour challenge as the colours were a perfect fit.

I used my heart Nesties to frame the sentiment which reads "I'll love you until the day after forever."   Just love the mix of fonts in this sentiment, not to mention the sentiment itself!!  The hearts embossing folder was a great background for this card and some touches of bling, ribbon and flowers finished the card off nicely.

That's it for today.  Have a great week and I'll see you next Saturday :)

Just Poppin' By!

Hello, everyone! Hope you are all ready for a great Fourth! My card is somewhat patriotic...in a round-about way. The Fourth of July means carnivals, right? And popcorn is a main staple at carnivals, right? :)

When I first saw this adorable digi set on the Sweet 'n Sassy website, I knew that I just had to make a card with it!! Isn't this little popcorn guy cute?? :) The set is called Poppin' By and is really easy to color and play with.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!!

Happy JULY!

I simply cannot believe it's July 1st already! Where has this year gone?? We are half way through already and I really would just like it to slow down a bit, wouldn't you?! LOL!

The start of the new month means new guest designers and we have TWO fabulous ladies lined up to share with you this month. Kim introduced them below, so be sure to scroll down to meet them!

Until then, I have a fun card to share with you featuring our NEWEST Cocoa image called Patriotic Cocoa. At this time, he is only available as a digi, but who knows, maybe next year we'll see him in clear form ;).

And just in case you hadn't heard....we released two more amazing clear sets Tuesday night and you just have to check them out: Tea Time Cocoa & August Gladiola

They are both available now but in limited quantities, so grab yours now. If you miss out this time, they won't be back in stock until later this month.

On another note....I don't know what the weather has been like in your neck of the woods, but here in PA the last couple of days it has been BEEEEEAUTIFUL :)!! And let me tell you, it was about time. It was so hot and humid most of June. Now that it's July, I am wondering if the months got themselves confused with each other ;). It is supposed to warm up again by the weekend, but I am enjoying every minute while it's nice like this. The windows are open and it's fabulous :).

Hugs and blessings for a beautiful day :),
