July Guest Designers

My goodness, where has another month gone? It's hard to believe that it's already July 1st and we have to bit a fond farewell to our June guest designers, Peggy McCurry and Silvia Mabie. Peggy and Silvia, thank you so much for sharing your creative talents with us this month! We've enjoyed getting to know you!!

And now I'm happy to introduce you to our amazing July designers, Marisa Ritzen and Janice Melton! You can read more about these talented ladies below:

My name is Marisa Ritzen. I live in beautiful, British Columbia, Canada, with my husband and two kids. I run a home-based, before and after school daycare and love to stamp in my free time. I started stamping about six years ago when I needed some “mommy time” while my kids were preschoolers. Though I am not naturally creative, I have always enjoyed working with my hands, so the journey of developing and expanding my stamping skills has been more rewarding than I could have ever imagined.

Hello! My name is Janice Melton (catcrazy on SCS). I am currently a stay at home Mom. I live in south central Pennsylvania with my wonderful husband Roger, our 2 teenage sons (13 & 17), 11 cats and 1 dog. I started out scrapbooking about 8 years ago but got sidetracted when I discovered card making about 3 years ago! I enjoy doing card challenges and learning new techniques. I am so excited to be one of the guest designers for the month of July!!

Please join me in welcoming Marisa and Janice to our guest designer team!!

My grace is sufficient...

Wow! We had such a fun time at the Release Party last night! So many beautiful cards were showcased by the design team! I feel so lucky to be a part of these fabulous women who have come together to promote Christ through our papercrafting. In the next week ahead, no doubt, you'll see our creations pop up on this blog or you can go take a look on SNR where the party was held.

Here is my card for today's post! I used the wonderful stamp set called "Amazing Grace" and I just love all the verses and sentiments included. This is a perfect set for any occasion! Take a moment to go to the Sweet 'n Sassy store and see all the latest additions.

May God Bless you everyday!  (UPDATE: This card will be published in the August 2010 Scrapbook News and Review Magazine!)
Hugs, Darsie

Everything's Coming Up Flowers

Hi Everyone! Happy Tuesday!
Today is my last post as a Guest Diva here at Sweet 'n Sassy Digis. It has been so much fun playing!
It has been an honor to work with such fabulous images!

For my card today I used Flower Pot Girl. She is such a cutie. I couldn't resist coloring her up! All the coloring is done with Copics.  I added some sparkle with various colors of atYou Spica pens. The layout is from this weeks Card Patterns Sketch Challenge.

Enjoy!!

Happy Summer!

Happy Summer, everybody!

It sure has swung into full gear at my house! I'd love to be like little Cocoa here, and peeking around a great big slice of sweet, juicy watermelon. Mmmmmm..... :-) Somehow watermelon always makes me think of the 4th of July and picnics and parades.

Cocoa and his sentiment are both from the new clear set called Feeling Fruity Cocoa. Be sure to grab a set for yourself to make some sweet summery cards!!

Blessings!

Customer Spotlight Sunday

Greetings everyone and welcome to another Customer Spotlight Sunday! This week I came across the most beautiful card created by Janice Melton, isn't it fabulous!?

Janice used one of my all time favorite SNSS stamp sets, the newly released Everyday Miracles set. (This set comes with two butterfly images and four sentiments for only $11.00.) I love how Janice dry embossed the background, leaving it white with just a hint of dimension coming from the tiny pearls in the center of each flower. What a great way to showcase her beautiful butterfly...the colors are amazing and pop so well off of the background. I also love the tiny bit of black on this card, it provide the perfect separation between the white and teal layers.

Great card Janice, thank you so much for letting us share your creation this week!

Praying for you!

Can I just say that I am VERY SAD that this is my last post as a guest designer here with Sweet N Sassy Stamps! :( I love the images and all the nice fun people over here! Thank you so much for having me, it was an honor!

Now onto my card!

I used the stamp set Praying for You, I love the font that this digi set uses! I simply printed the sentiment on a piece of vanilla cardstock and then used my biggest nesties label 9 to cut it out. The designer paper below from the marrakech paper pack by Basic Grey and thebutton is also from Basic Grey. To finish it off I simply added a large prima and some black gingham ribbon...can you say YUMMY!
I love the simplicity of this image and how the sentiment can stand alone without an image.
Supplies:
Stamps: Praying for you digi image
Ink: none
Paper: kiwi kiss, vanilla, tangerine tango, marrakech DP by Basic Grey
Accessories: fancy scallop punch, black gingham ribbon, nesties label 9, prima flower, basic grey buttons
Thank you sooo much for stopping by!
Thanks again for having me!
Hugs and happy stampin'

Up, Up, and Away...

In my beautiful, my beautiful balloon...Anyone remember that song or am I really dating myself?

Happy Friday everyone, are you all ready for the weekend? I'm looking forward to a few quiet days but before I depart from blog land, I wanted to share this darling Hot Air Balloon digi image that Leah created a few weeks ago. I've been itching to color it and make it into a card! I thought that this week's Digi Day Challenge of using pink and orange would be perfect hot air balloon colors! I also added a few white gel polka dots to the top of the balloon...Now all I need are some fluffy white felt clouds I keep seeing on other's cards... ;-)

I'm not sure where the designer paper is from, it's some that I had in my stash, but the rhinestones are from Kaiser, image was colored with Copics, and the layout is from Mojo Monday.

Enjoy!!

Birds and Roses

It's Sweet & Sassy Digi Day again and our theme this week is pink and orange, so, for my card, I used the new digi "Birds and Roses", along with a verse from the clear set, Amazing Grace. This is such a fun stamp to color, I just wish I could have gotten a clearer picture for you! Cameras! Uggh! ;-)

By the way, have you looked at all of the new sets in the store lately?? There are both clear stamps and digis and *wow*! They are fabulous!!

I hope you'll drop by either of our groups and play along today. It's a wonderful way to snag some free digis!!

Have a blessed day!

They shall be One Flesh

Happy Anniversary to ME!  I know that is a bit self-serving (sorry!!), but I wanted to draw your attention to these beautiful sentiments in the Wedding Sentiments digi set HERE!  This is the anniversary card (could be a wedding card, too!) that I made my hubby for our 9th Anniversary coming up on July 4th.  I plan to give it to him early on our first 'vacation ever together ALONE' this week!  We are vacationing in Chicago, taking in all of the museums and sites!  I looooove Chicago about as much as I loooooove this digi set that is just full of beautiful 'love' sentiments perfect for wedding and anniversary occasions!  So, be sure to check it out!

On a sad note, this is my last post at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  I have decided to bow out gracefully to focus my attention on re-prioritizing my daily routine to have more time to include homemade meals, making fresh bread, taking better care of the house and enjoying my youngest child's last year at home before being in school fulltime in the fall of 2011.  They grow up so fast, so after giving it much thought, I have decided to slow down and really SEE and appreciate each and every moment I have left with my kiddos!

I want to thank Korin for this wonderful opportunity of being on the SNSS Design Team for the past 10 months beginning with my Guest Designing last September; it seems just like yesterday!  I will miss the entire SNSS team and the closeness we share every day.  I invite you all to visit me at my blog to say HEY now and then and really hope we will keep our friendships alive with a comment or two!

Blessings to you all!
Nicole

I am so loving the all the digi's and now there are Clear Stamps available. Check them out!

Copics Used: B21, B24, G21, G24, G28, E31, E33, Y11, Y15, YR65

Birds & Roses

Happy Summer Yall!!!  Well, summer is officially here and boy can you tell it by the hot 90° and muggy weathers we've been having here in PA.  I am so glad Father's Day is over and I didn't have to post a Father's Day Card. I'm terrible at making masculine cards.

My card today was made with a newly released Digi Stamp called Birds and Roses. Isn't this just the most beautiful image!
Sorry, my picture seems very dark here but it didn't look this way before posting. I hope it looks better on your monitor.
I colored it in with Copic Markers.  The flowers were made with punches and I'm finally starting to use my stash of buttons.

Many Blessings!
Nancy

Greetings all and Happy Father's Day to all the men in your life (or men that are reading our blog...are there any men in the audience?) Today, I'm super excited to share this super cute, super Dad card created by Jo over at The Crafty Nomad.

Jo paired our Super Dad image and sentiment with some super-duper designer paper, ribbon, and brads! And how about that cloud paper..so perfect with the image! I love how she added a tiny rhinestone to Dad's belt. Those little details really add to the overall fun design of her card.

Thanks Jo for allowing us to spotlight your card this week, we love it!

Want to have your card spotlighted on our blog? Then drop us a line or leave a comment with a link back to your blog or online gallery showing us what you created with one of our images....your card might be next!

You're My HERO!

Happy Friday stamping friends!

I've got a fun card to share with you today in honor of Father's Day, which is just a couple short days away. Yesterday's digi day challenge was Anything Masculine so this is the card I made. My husband collects comic books and he LOVES superheroes so this card is just perfect for him. I know he'll get a kick out of it.

The image is part of a digi set called Super Dad. It comes with 3 coordinating sentiments. I paired it up with some funky Basic Grey papers. Not a lot of embellishing needed for this one :).

Have a fantastic Friday and enjoy your weekend!!

Blessings,
Korin

Bowled Over for Father's Day

Good morning! It's time for another Sweet -n Sassy Digi Day at SNR Card Universe and Paper Craft Planet, and today's theme is masculine cards, or Father's Day, so I thought I'd do double duty and make my card for this post one that I would allow me to play along with digi day. Are masculine cards a tough one for anyone else, or is it just me? Well, I guess much of the struggle for me must have to do with the images I choose to work with, because usually guy cards are difficult for me, but not this time. I used this wonderful Bowling Strike digital stamp, illustrated by Aston Sutherland, and once I had the image colored, the creativity flowed. I played along with the Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge for this card, so the layout was easy, and worked perfectly with this digi. I really like to color large images, and that's what's so nice about digital stamps. You can make them fit nearly any project you want by sizing them according to your needs. I LOVE that about them.
Artistic talent sure runs in the Sutherland family, because both of Korin's boys are wonderful illustrators. The image above, as I mentioned was illustrated by Aston Sutherland, and should you have the chance to play along with the digi day challenge at either PCP, or SNR by midnight (EST) tonight, you will receive this Golf Tee image illustrated by Aidan Sutherland, AND a gift certificate for a free digi with a $10 purchase from Sweet-n Sassy Stamps.

You can find complete details and LOTS of inspiration on today's Digi Day thread in the Sweet -n Sassy Group forums on both Paper Craft Planet, and SNR Card Universe. Be sure to stop by and chat with Korin and Tricia. I know they're both looking forward to seeing your masculine creations. Hope to see you there!
Wishing you a blessed day and happy stamping!

Love ya,

Cocoa's Sweet Parade

My sweet tooth is in overdrive this week (my hips are not happy about this!), so to fit the mood, I pulled out my favorite sweetie, Cocoa, and crafted up some tasty delights. I used the So Sweet Cocoa clear stamp set to create these cards, but each of the images I used are also available as a digi.
That doughnut has been "glazed" with glossy accents after coloring the sprinkles with stickles. Yummy!
How about a cookie? I wanted to keep the piercing consistent with all three of these projects and just change up the colors and layout a little bit for each. Now, if that doesn't have your mouth watering, how about a cupcake?
A little more stitching and a little more piercing and I have another tasty treat here! You can order the clear stamps here and A Donut for Cocoa, Cookies for Cocoa, and Cupcake Cocoa. Look three delicious treats and not a calorie in sight (well, except for my props!)
Happy Crafting!
Lisa

Baby Buggy

Happy Tuesday!! Peggy here. I cannot believe how we are at the middle of June!!
It is my day for a card and since I love "Baby Buggy", I decided to create a card using this image.
I printed the image larger than usual and paper pieced using the Flower Patch Pad from Making Memories. The buggy handle and wheels are colored with Copics (C00 and C1). The little pearls were a must on the trim and hearts.  The triple loop bow finishes the card.

I am having so much fun with the fabulous digi's that Sweet and Sassy has to offer!
See you next Tuesday!
Enjoy!

Lots of Poppies

I've had a lot of fun playing around with this Poppy and Greetings set. I made a set of cards that are different but use the same 2 pieces of pattern paper, 2 solid color card stock and the same embellies and border punch. All the images were colored with Prismacolor pencils. Isn't it neat how out of the same basic supplies you can achive a varitey of looks? Did you know that this fabulous set is available as clear stamps and as a digi ?! So there's no excuse not to go pick one up for yourself! I'm sure you'll love this set as much as I do:) Thanks for coming by today, have a blessed day.

Customer Spotlight Sunday

This week I am super excited to share this beautiful card created by Nancy Kirk. This was a card she created for a Clean and Simple challenge on Splitcoaststampers and I happen to think that this card is a winner! What a great design Nancy! I love the way the text overlaps the large fern image and the butterfly is darling!

Both the butterfly and sentiment are from one of the newly released stamp sets, Everyday Miracles, which also includes a second butterfly image and more sentiments for only $11.00!

Thank you for sharing your card with us Nancy!!

God Made you Special...

And he loves you very much! That's what I always think when I start reading the sentiment on this stamp set...but I have small children and we watch Veggie Tales often... Sorry about that, hope I didn't get any songs stuck in anyones heads! LOL

Anywho, I digress, I think these little birds are the sweetest birds alive...errr digi's...you know what I mean! LOL I used my coluzzle to cut the circle around the birds and when I could go no further I used my paper snips...I like the end effects, those birds look too cute! I think they know the sentiment is true, or maybe they have the Veggie Tales theme song stuck in their heads too!
I added a bit of glitter to the leaves after I watercolored them using my watercolor pencils and blender pens and I sponged 2 different colors around the circle, I think it looks pretty neat! Did some paper piercing and added a gem to dot my eye and called it a day! What do you think?
Supplies:
Ink: craft turquoise, craft green galore
Paper: Kraft, white, Nook and Pantry by Basic Grey
Accessories: twill, staples, watercolor pencils, blender pens, paper piercing tool, sponge, gem, glitter
Thanks for stoppin' by!
Have a blessed day,
Silvia

Cute and elegant

Hi there everyone, it's Janette here! Ok, I am super late posting this which is not like me. I just was making my daily visit to the blog and realized that uh oh...it was my day to post. I am so mixed up this week and did not even realize that it was Friday. Oh well, I hope that it is better late than never. Today, I would like to show you a couple cards featuring stamp sets that were released June 1st. Now, keep in mind that both of the sets I used today are available as clear stamps or as digi sets so you can choose whichever suits you better. I have a cute card and an elegant one to share with you. And now without further ado, I present to you my elegant card...

I love variety and that is exactly what you get with Sweet N Sassy stamps. Sometimes I like to color a cute image and sometimes a more elegant one and then are times when I don't want to color and I just want to stamp. I think that there is so much to pick from and can satisfy whatever crafting mood you are in. This card uses one of the butterfly images from Everyday Miracles along with one of the sentiments. I did color it with copics, cut it out and adhered with foam tape, and added stickles for sparkle. The flowers were white and I sponged them with ink and also added stickles. All the edges were sponged with ink before sewing.

And now for a cutie...

How super adorable is this puppy??? I love this set!! It is called Woof You. I created my own bg paper by stamping with the bone stamp repeating on my paper. I colored the image with warm grey copics and paper pieced the bandana around his neck. I also used my copic marker to add shading to that as well. I used my Janome sew mini to sew around all the edges.

closer view for you

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope that you have a wonderful weekend.

a True Friend...

We've got a bit of a chill in upstate New York this week, which is surprising for this time of year. My neighbor's poppies are drooping a little, but I just love the splashes of red that borders her fence. My card uses the new CLEAR STAMP set called "Poppies & Greetings" which was recently released. What I love about this stamp set is how crisp the images stamp, and the delightful little greetings that come with it. They are a perfect size to stamp in small spaces on your card. The set includes 2 images and 9 sentiments, and measures approximately 4 x 4 inches. This is a MUST have set, in my eyes!

Here's hoping the rest of your week is filled with God's Grace.
Hugs, Darsie

I love Copics and these images are perfect for coloring!

Customer Spotlight Sunday

This week we're thrilled to showcase Julie's beautiful wedding-themed card, which features one of the sentiments from the Wedding Sentiments set. (This great set includes eight sentiments for only $3.50!)

I love how Julie chose to use the sentiment as the focal point on this card, so elegent! And can you see that amazing shimmer on her paper, beautiful! Adding all of the small flowers and lacy edges make this card design a fantastic choice for any happy couple!

A big thank you to Julie for allowing us to showcase her card today! Have a card you'd like us to share...leave us a comment with a link back to you blog and maybe you'll be the next Customer Spotlight Sunday person!

Precious Baby!

Hi there,

This is Silvia, I'm one of your guest designers for the month of June! I'm super excited to be here. I LOVE the images at Sweet N' Sassy digi's but have you seen the NEW photopolymer stamps...they are awesome! Go check them out if you haven't already! But mt card uses a digi image called Precious Baby and what a bargain it is for just $3.50. Imagine just how many times you'll be able to use this image, for boy or girl it's the perfect image! For the scallops all the way around I simply embossed a sheet of cardstock and then punched it out with my 1/2 inch circle punch and adhered it all around.

This card was my very first time using my new copics (I told hubby I NEED more)...I have a total of 8, so not many to choose from, but they matched and so I was able to color this image with them...well copics and watercolor pencils and blender pens. So you could say that this is a mixed media project! I love the trim, I got it at a local trim and beading store and then I used some pretty gingham ribbon to add a extra to it...plus I wanted to hide a spot that I couldn't add another circle...so there you have it...perfectly covered up! LOL

Supplies:
Stamps: Precious Baby By Sween N Sassy
Paper: cameo coral, pink pirouette, certainly celery, White by PTI
Ink: Lazer printer
Accessories: gingham ribbon, lace, water color pencils, blender pens, copic ,markers
I hope you like my card...it's an honor to be here as a guest designer, and i hope you come back and see what else I have created to share with you!
Hugs and happy stampin',
Silvia

Taste and See...

...that the Lord is good! Happy Friday everyone! Are you all ready for the weekend? I can't wait and if time permits maybe I'll get in some baking...I know this darling image from the Baked with Love set makes me think of apple pie and banana bread! And that's not all...there are a total of eight digi images in this set, all sure to inspire you to bake some goodies for your family or friends! Right now it's on sale for only $10.50!

In addition to showing off this darling image and sentiment, which I colored with Copics, I'm also showcasing some fun Jillibean Soup papers that are all about being down on the farm. Fun stuff!!

Enjoy your weekend and try to make time for eating at least one slice of apple pie!

Chocolate Chip Rose

Here it is, ladies! The first chocolate chip rose! I was coloring the June Rose the other night during the release party (which was *so* fun, by the way!!) and I had some... ummm... technical difficulties. (In other words, I *really* messed up the coloring!! LOL!) But... Korin said I should try to salvage it, so I cut it all apart and layered the pieces with pop dots. Then I paper pieced one of the butterflies from the Everyday Miracles set and used a sentiment from the Poppies & Greetings set to finish it off. I really like how it turned out! :-)

Don't forget to stop by our digi day (or clear stamp day!) at SNR or PCP. Our theme for today is... Floral Frenzy!! I hope to see you there!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

June Rose in CLEAR STAMP FORM!!!!!!!

HAPPY HUMP DAY!  Does it feel like Wednesday to you?  My body is all messed up from the three-day weekend!!  But, believe it or not, we are already half-way through the week!!!!!!!

Did you get a chance to participate in the Clear Stamps Celebration BLOG HOP yesterday?  It is so exciting bringing back clear stamps to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps STORE HERE!  DIGIS are wonderful!  I LOVE THEM!! But there are some awesome techniques that can't happen with digis, so I am excited to be inking up again!

For my card above, I used the JUNE ROSE CLEAR STAMP along with a sentiment from the POPPIES AND GREETINGS CLEAR STAMP SET!  Don't these look great together!?  I used Copics to color and some Kaiser Scrapbook pearls to add a special, delicate touch!  The square scallops were made using punches by Stampin' UP!

Be sure to play along STILL TODAY with the blog hop CHALLENGES at the SNR FORUM HERE and see if you were the lucky winner of yesterday's blog candy, too!!

Blessings on your day!! ~ Nicole
