June Guest Designers & New Design Team Members

Greetings all! Well I can hardly believe that May has passed us by and it's June already! I hope that you're ready for tomorrow's blog hop...I'm super excited about it! We're going to have so much to share and so many prizes...don't miss it, it starts here!! And I'm super excited to tell you about our June Guest Designers! But first, I want to send out a huge thank you to Tanis and Erika for sharing their beautiful work with us during the month of May!!

For June, we're thrilled to introduce you to Silvie Mabie and Peggy McCurry! Please take a moment to visit each of their blogs filled with their beautiful work! And here's a bit more about each of them... Hello everyone, first I would like to say a big Thank you to Korin for having me on as a Guest DT member this month. It's a total honor! Here is a little about me. My name is Silvia and I am a wife of 11 years to an amazing husband, a mother of 3 sweet kids (6,4 and 3) and I am currently living on the Island of Crete, Greece. I am blessed beyond measure! I love to stamp, scrapbook...stamp in my scrapbooks and create 3-D items. I have been stamping for 6 years now (my how time flies) and I couldn't imagine my life with out it!

Apart from stamping I like to read, currently, I'm reading Bad Girls of the Bible and Have a little Faith...both awesome books. I also like to go to the beach, swim, tan and run. This October I'm going to be running 10K in Athens, it's the 2500 anniversary of the battle of marathon and I'm super excited to be a part of the run...plus I get a cool t-shirt and metal! :) I'm also a Princess, my Father is the King of Kings and I am honored to be His daughter!

Hi! I'm Peggy, pegmac71 on Splitcoaststampers, and I am a full time, work outside the home, professional during the day, and a crafter by night. I have been stamping for about five years now and am still "defining my style". I love Copics and Ribbon! I share my life with my beautiful daughter, my sweetheart professional bowler, a mini poodle and a cat. When I am not stamping, you will find me bowling, reading or being a beach bum. I am excited to be a guest designer for Sweet and Sassy Stamps!

Peggy & Siliva - we're looking forward to seeing your creations this month!! Thank you so much for sharing with us!

Lastly, I'd like to introduce you on two new Design Team Members that we've added to our group of Digi Divas...Randi Barrett and Katlyn Traxler!! Below are both ladies bios and lovely photos. :-)
My life is filled with blessings after blessings. Surviving four different bouts of cancer has gifted me with an appreciation of the life God has granted me. My children were ages 5 and 7 when my first cancer occurred. Since then I have been able to raise my kids, and see them marry wonderful soul mates. One of my favorite blessings from the Lord is to see the birth of our 2 grandchildren and to be a part of their little lives. I have been married to the greatest husband in the world for 36 years. No one is treated better than me! Long ago he kept telling me to get a hobby. SO-O-O-O finally I did.... {grin}.... Stamping and scraping have filled my studio and emptied his wallet. LOL These days, since I have retired from teaching, my time is spent crafting, loving family and giving God the glory He so richly deserves.

Hi! My name is Katlyn Traxler, known to some as K. Joy. I have recently graduated from high school, and am going to work on becoming a medical transcriptionist. I have been stamping for a little over a year now, and just love it! My favorite part is the coloring. In my free time (when I’m not stamping), I enjoy exercising the gifts that God has given me by drawing and practicing my violin.

Please join me in welcoming our guest designers and new design team members!! And be sure to check back tomorrow for the start of the Blog Hop!!

Live, Love, eat chocolate!

It's Erika Martin again.....hard to believe this month as a guest designer went by so fast! But....I'll be back for a couple more sneak peeks from the new clear stamps that Sweet n' Sassy is debuting!

Even though I'm a pretty healthy girl and do lots of walking and exercise, chocolate is my luxury item. While I don't eat it as proficiently as I used to, I love using it as a reward for myself. Hey, after all, chocolate comes from a bean, so it's vegetarian and healthy for you, right? *wink*

The images from the Chocoholic set are right up my alley (and in my tummy, too). I chose the cupcake to work with and printed out two of them to color in with Copic markers. I added some glitter to the heart sprinkles on top for some pop. I trimmed them out with precision tip scissors.
I chose teal cardstock for my card base and pink cardstock to layer on top. I used some patterned paper for layers and punched out the "XOXO" image from the paper (because I LOVE chocolate, in case you hadn't already figured that out). The sentiment comes from the Chocoholic Sentiments set.

Now I'm hungry for chocolate. I think I need to treat myself. And if it weren't for the fact that I already have someone picked out for this card to go to, I'd send it to myself! haha!

Sneak Peek Day 5

So, are you excited to hear about Sweet N Sassy bringing back the clear stamps??? I know I sure am. Now, for those of you who love digis, not to worry they arn't going anywhere. I think my favorite images right now from SNSS are the Cocoa ones. So, I have 2 to show you today. The first is a current digi called Cupcake Cocoa and he is part of one of the new stamp sets that is going to be released on Tuesday called So Sweet Cocoa. Take a look:

I wanted to add some dimension to this card so I colored in parts of 4 Cocoa images with my copics and used the paper tole technique to make Cocoa really stand out.

Some closer looks for you:

The second card I have to show you is for the SNR digi day challenge that I am hosting which is still taking place. If you have not already done so, you will want to check it out because there is a free digi up for grabs for participating in the challenge and you have till next Wed June 2nd to get your submissions in. The challenge for the week is a pretty easy one called Patterns O'Plenty. I used the adorable Berry Sweet Cocoa for this one.

Well, for many of you this is going to be a long holiday weekend in celebration of Memorial day here in the United States. I hope that you enjoy it and have a blessed weekend!

Sneak Peek Day 4

I am SO excited about Sweet 'n Sassy carrying Clear Stamps again. As much as I like digi's I LOVE clear stamps!

Here is a sneak peek at two of the new stamps being release on June 1st.

The first is the April Daisy.  The ever so talented Leah Cornelius is the illustrator for the entire line of Birth Month Flowers. So, here is the "April Daisies" stamp.
Along with the daisies, you will also notice two of the cutest butterflies.  They are from a set called "Everyday Miracles"., illustrated by the wonderfully talented Korin Sutherland. The talent of these ladies just blows me away.

Don't forget to follow us for the new release Blog Hop on June 1st. There are some great prizes in store. You won't want to miss one minute of it.

Thanks for stopping by. See you at the hop!

Poppies and Greetings

Good morning!

Today's card features these beautiful poppies from the Poppies and Greetings set - part of the NEW CLEAR STAMPS that are releasing on June 1st!

I used my Bic markers (no Copics for this girl!) to colour this beauty. A canvas background stamp, Tim Holtz Distress ink and some crumpling and edge distressing gave the image it's distressed look.

This is my last official post at Sweet and Sassy, and I just wanted to say THANKS SO MUCH to the Sweet and Sassy Team for having me here this month! It's been fun :)

Cocoa's Chocolates

It's Erika Martin.....and I'm back with some chocolate!

I'm a girl that loves my chocolate. Dark chocolate is my favorite but I've never met a chocolate I didn't like. This Cocoa's Chocolates image is so adorable...I love the way he seems to be protecting his chocolate. More than chocolate, though, I'm also a girl that loves her family and friends so there are times when I feel like those days without the people I love the most are like a day without my favorite sweet.

Today happens to be my husband's 35th birthday and a day without him IS like a day without chocolate so this card will be his birthday card today. Good thing my hubby doesn't mind all the pink!

I printed my images onto vanilla cardstock and colored the Cocoa image in with watercolor pencils, though I didn't blend the colors with any water. I mounted the image onto dark brown cardstock. The base card is actually a 5 x 5 card since I printed my images out rather large. I did the base with a light brown cardstock and adhered patterned paper strips onto it.

The greeting was printed from the Chocoholic Sentiments set. I mounted it on top of a light pink patterned paper and then on top of the card with pop-dots. I added a couple tiny pink buttons to set it off.

And now I've gone and made myself hungry for a chocolate! How about you?

Gifts for All Occassions

All the buzz lately seems to be about gift giving. There are people getting gifts for teachers as the school year comes to an end. Others preparing grad gifts. And still others working on birthday, wedding, and baby gifts. I needed to pull together a retirement gift for our district librarian whom I will be replacing next school year. She's been so much help and encouragement to me this year. We are honoring her with a breakfast this morning and lots of gifts but one set of gifts are going in this little tote I made using the new Anemone Flower.
This will be filled with some special candies. I colored the anemone to match the napkins going on the table at her breakfast.
I created another little gift using the new Danny Dino image. I wanted something to give a little boy, so no bows or frillies. Just a couple of cute dinosaurs guarding a die cut box of dinosaur gummies.
These are identical images but I flipped one and then printed them both on some Basic Grey patterned paper. The little gummies don't show up very well in the window but the box is filled with more dinos!
I wish I could say my gift giving is done, but that is so not the case! But for all your gift giving needs, there are loads of images at Sweet N Sassy to make your gifts look just perfect!
Happy Crafting!
Lisa

Miracles for Today....

I think we experience miracles everyday, sometimes we just have to look a little harder to see them. I used two new sets for my card today, Anemone Flower and Everyday Miracles, for the butterfly and sentiment. I really enjoyed coloring both these images! I used my Copics to color and added some pen dots for some added detail. I hope you take a moment today and find something to be thankful for, even if it is just that you are alive, for that is a true miracle all by itself. Blessings.....
Leah

Birthday Cake Cocoa

This little guy is SOOO cute!!! You can find Birthday Cake Cocoa HERE at the Sweet and Sassy store.

I don't know about you, but it seems that I NEVER have enough cards for kids in my stash. Every time one of my own has a birthday party to attend, I'm frantically putting together a kid card the morning of the party.

I just love Cocoa - he is perfect for kids AND adults! And since these images lend themselves so well to a quick color (or a more detailed color if you have more time), he's perfect for those Saturday morning quick cards. And you know how much I love quick cards!

Thanks for coming by to look and enjoy your Tuesday!

Springy Birthday Greetings

I love to dig through my patterned paper box to see what goodies I can unearth. For example, I had these scraps of guava and river rock dp left over from a few years back, and they were just *perfect* for the Flower Jar image that I had colored and cut out with a Labels 8 die. My card is actually a 6 x 6 piece of cardstock folded in half to make a 3 x 6 card. I really like the size. Sort of a miniature tall & skinny card. :-) I used one of the Feminine Birthday greetings and cut it into a banner shape to fill in the space below the little bow made with gold cord. Top it off with the lace doily punch and you have a sweet and simple birthday card for any of the spring birthdays on your list.

Thanks so much for dropping by today! If you have time to make a 3 x 6 card, I'd love to see it!!

Blessings!

Tricia

Sweet Bookmark - Milton Reading

It's me.....Erika Martin. I'm back for another Saturday post as part of my Guest Designer stint here at Sweet n' Sassy!

When I saw the Milton Reading digi image, I couldn't help myself. I had to have it. I've always been a voracious reader and my daughter has quickly followed in my footsteps. She's 10 years old and loves chapter books. She's starting to read some of the favorites I had at her age. She's never seen without a book....she's just like her mama. I don't know how she carries her backpack, as it's loaded with books. It's uncomfortable for even me to pick up because it's so heavy!

I thought it would be a special treat for her to wake up to a cute bookmark for the book she's reading. That's one thing she didn't pick up from me.....bookmarks. I don't know if she's even thought about using one. I've always used them and even had a huge collection when I was her age.

I printed the Milton Reading image onto water color paper and it printed beautifully! I used my ink pads as palettes by pressing the lid of the pad against the pad itself. A little bit of water on the color on the lid and a detail paint brush and I was ready to go. In spite of all the shading, I only used 4 ink pads for this image. I just made sure to water down some ink more than the other so that I could get some shading that perfectly matched the base colors.

I rounded the corners with a punch on both the water color paper and also on the pink cardstock that I mounted it on. I punched a hole at the top of the bookmark with a 1/4 inch hole punch and threaded some pink gingham ribbon to create a tassel.

Now I just need to make one for myself. Milton is just too darn cute and it would even cuter for mom and daughter to have matching bookmarks!

I printed "Cocoa's Chocolates" on Whisper White cardstock, cut him out, then colored with Copic Markers. My sentiment stamp is from Inkadinkado, and my designer paper is Basic Grey's "Bittersweet". I added a bit of chocolate rickrack, some rhinestones, a fluffy bow with a heart button to finish the card! May your day be filled with God's Love!
    Hugs, Darsie

    For the Boys

It seems so easy to make cards for the GIRLS in our lives. Pretty, full of ribbon and flowers and hearts and love....but the BOYS?? That's a different story sometimes!

Guy cards are my toughest challenge, and I find that going plain and simple is the best approach. It helps to start out with a great guy image of course...I LOVE these bowling pins! Such a quick fun image. I paired it with a greeting from Masculine Birthday, added some great GUY paper (these papers are from the Joy Ride Mini Deck by Cosmo Cricket) and whipped this one up in about 15 minutes (which is probably my all time record!).

Thanks for coming by to look! Enjoy your day!

    Purrfectly Wonderful Birthday!

This is the Purrfect Friends digi and I absolutely love the fun nose and long whiskers on this kitten.  He's so much fun to color and because he's a solid color you could even use some fun scrapbook paper and print him on that if you didn't want to color him.  He is paired with two wonderful sentiments that are PURR-fect for him!

Hope you have a chance to go by the Sweet 'n Sassy store and see all the wonderful digis they have to offer.   If you haven't been in the store recently, there are 519 digis listed!  What a great variety of images and definitely something for everyone!

Today is Customer Spotlight Sunday and I have two beautiful cards to share with you from, Maxine D. She played along with our challenges that we have on PCP and SNR on Thursdays which makes it easy for us to find customers that use our digis. She was creative in using the same layout with two different Cocoa images.

We love it when you let us know you are using our digis! Be sure to post a link to your card(s) by posting a link below. We are always looking for cards or projects to use on our Sunday Customer Spotlight posts :)!

Purrfect Friend in pink and brown

Hello everyone! I'm thrilled to be one of the Guest Designers this month for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. Today I'll be showing the first card I've made using some of the digital stamps that S'nS offers.

One of the sets that I chose for my guest designer stint is Purrfect Friend because I'm a cat lover and I also have a lot of friends that are cat lovers, as well. I'm going to get a ton of use out of this set. I already have the person picked out that this card is going to be sent to. One of my best friends that lives overseas in Belgium. We may have an ocean separating us, but that doesn't keep our friendship from growing. She can't have a cat where she lives, but she absolutely adores them, so this card will be the next best thing to having a cat to cuddle and it will also show her just how much she means to me.

I printed out my digi stamps and then used my Copic markers to color the kitty in. I never used to be a pink lover, but I've always liked shades of brown. Over the last couple of years, I've really come to like this color combo together. And this kitty looks so cute in pink and brown.

I used a scalloped circle punch to punch out a bunch of circles in caramel cardstock and snipped them in half to layer them behind the kitty to make a scalloped border. I used pop-dots to give it some height on my card. Some patterned paper and a little bit of pink and brown grosgrain ribbon finished my card off.

I'm looking forward to showing you my next creations next Saturday when I post again!

    Challenge with Poppies!

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!  My apologies for being repetitive and sharing another POPPIES card, but I just had to share this card that I made for this week's CHALLENGE!  This week's challenge is 'using Lace'!  Well, since I didn't have any real lace to use I used a Martha Stewart punch!  Be sure to check out this week's challenge at PaperCraftPlanet {HERE} and/or Scrapbook News and Review {HERE}; there is a great prize to be earned and many friends to be made!

Be sure to enter into this week's challenge!

    Poppies

    Happy Thursday!!!

Today I used a NEW Digi Stamp from Sweet 'n Sassy called Poppies. I'm addicted to making cards with flowers so as soon as I saw this was going to be released today I jumped on it. They were colored with Copic Markers.
Ok, here is the real reason I love Digi's. After I printed two sets of the size I wanted, I then made them a little smaller and flipped the image. This is why you see some smaller ones in with the original.

Today is also Digi Day over at SNR & PCP so if you want to pick up on a FREE digi, go one over and play along before Midnight est tonight. The theme for the challenge is, Let's Get Lacey!

Since this could mean many different things, I actually combined a MS lace border punch along with some lace ribbon.

    Warm Blessings!

Super Card for a Super Dad

    Hi Everyone!

Korin has been creating more awesome digis and when she previewed "Super Dad" to the DT, I couldn't wait to play with him. I look at him and can't help but giggle and think "Ta-Ta-Ta-Da..... Super Dad to the rescue", lol!

    SNS SuperDad

After coloring him with Copics, I used my Octagon Nesties to cut him out. On a whim I decided to create a flap fold card and decided not to use any designer papers, just card stock. I used the "Happy Father's Day" sentiment from the "Super Dad" set on the inside and also used the "Super Dad Symbol". Here's a look at the inside of my card:

    SNS SuperDad inside

Be sure to swing by the Sweet 'n Sassy store to check out the latest digis released this week. You'll love them! And don't forget to join us tomorrow for Digi Day in our SNR and PCP groups!

    Many blessings!

    Micki
