Bowled Over for Father's Day

Good morning! It's time for another Sweet -n Sassy Digi Day at SNR Card Universe and Paper Craft Planet, and today's theme is masculine cards, or Father's Day, so I thought I'd do double duty and make my card for this post one that I would allow me to play along with digi day. Are masculine cards a tough one for anyone else, or is it just me? Well, I guess much of the struggle for me must have to do with the images I choose to work with, because usually guy cards are difficult for me, but not this time. I used this wonderful Bowling Strike digital stamp, illustrated by Aston Sutherland, and once I had the image colored, the creativity flowed. I played along with the Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge for this card, so the layout was easy, and worked perfectly with this digi. I really like to color large images, and that's what's so nice about digital stamps. You can make them fit nearly any project you want by sizing them according to your needs. I LOVE that about them.
Artistic talent sure runs in the Sutherland family, because both of Korin's boys are wonderful illustrators. The image above, as I mentioned was illustrated by Aston Sutherland, and should you have the chance to play along with the digi day challenge at either PCP, or SNR by midnight (EST) tonight, you will receive this Golf Tee image illustrated by Aidan Sutherland, AND a gift certificate for a free digi with a $10 purchase from Sweet-n Sassy Stamps.

You can find complete details and LOTS of inspiration on today's Digi Day thread in the Sweet -n Sassy Group forums on both Paper Craft Planet, and SNR Card Universe. Be sure to stop by and chat with Korin and Tricia. I know they're both looking forward to seeing your masculine creations. Hope to see you there!
Wishing you a blessed day and happy stamping!

Love ya,

  2. Love this card Lorie! I am going to have to get this image as my boyfriend is a pro bowler and we have many bowler friends that I could make cards for. This also gives me an idea for my last of the month post. TFS!

  3. Lorie, I love this card. I will need to "borrow" it for my father. He's an excellent bowler (even at 76). Thanks for the inspiration.
