February Guest Designers

Hi everyone! Well, we have made it through the first month of 2011. Are you still writing 2010 on things? It tends to take me a bit to get out of that habit. I am excited to announce the 2 ladies who will be joining us for the month of February. First, I need to say a fond farewell to our January guest designers and one of our DT members who is moving on.

Thank you to Jennifer Taylor and Pattie Goldman for doing a fabulous job during January. Your cards were beautiful ladies and I really enjoyed them! I would also like to say farewell to Jacquie Peifer who has done a great job designing for us the past 3 months. She is moving on to pursue some other crafting avenues and we wish her the best of luck. Thank you Jacquie for sharing your beautiful designs with us!

The two creative ladies joining us for February are Denise Modin and Claudine Poch. Below, is a little more information about both of them.

Claudine Poch- My name is Claudine Poch (sevencats on Splitcoaststampers.) I live in Ohio with my husband, son, and cats. I have been doing crafts almost my whole life, and paper crafts for about five years. I enjoy making cards, particularly those that contain “critters”, such as cats and dogs. Most of my cards are sold to benefit the no-kill animal shelter where I volunteer. I am currently serving on a few other design teams and am excited to be a guest designer for Sweet n Sassy Stamps.

Denise Modin- Hi! My name is Denise (a.k.a. Denimo) and I live in a wonderful little college town in Lawrence, Kansas, USA. I'm a mom, grandma and dog lover/owner of one black great dane. And I absolutely love card-making. I love how we take a plain piece of card stock, add a stamped or digital image, color it up, create a layout and end up with something wonderful! I've been stamping for probably about 10 years now, but just seriously the last 2-3 years. I take lots of inspiration from many other wonderful artists and hope I can provide a little along the way.

Throughout the month of February, Denise will be sharing her creations with us on Tuesday (except the 1st) and Claudine will be sharing on Saturdays. I look forward to seeing all the awesome designs that they will be inspiring us with! Please join me in welcoming both Denise and Claudine.

You will want to stop by tomorrow as it is release day here at Sweet N Sassy stamps! There are 5 terrific stamps sets that will be available and Korin is going to have some card samples to share with us featuring the new releases.

He Lives

This beautiful image is a sneak peek from one of the sets in the February Release from Sweet' n Sassy Stamps. It's called 'He Lives' and the sentiment is a Eureka Stamp. I thought that is was so fitting to put them together.
I mounted this on a piece of chipboard so it could be hung or placed on a stand. It looks like navy blue in this picture but it is really mounted on Elegant Eggplant. I placed each crystal and pearl on one at a time to make my own design.
This wonderful patterned paper is from Prima Marketing and is called ' Fairy Flora'. I wanted to achieve a sunrise effect and matched the ink for the sponging around the cross.
I will display this during the Easter season. I am so thankful for life in Christ. I don't know where I'd be without Him. I hope that this honors Him.

Recipe
Stamps: He Lives, Eureka Stamps
Ink: Adirondack Espresso, Mauve Mist, Bashful Blue, Daffodil Delight, Baja Breeze
Paper: Elegant Eggplant, Georgia Pacific White, Fairy Flora
Accessories: Copic Markers, 0, W0, W1, V0000, V000, V09, V12, V15, V17, E19, E21, E30, E31, E34, E37. Lilac and Lipstick Spica Glitter Pens. Swarovski Crystals, Kaiser Kraft Pearls, Martha Stewart Border Punch Arched Lattice, Stampin Dimensional, Plumb Perfection Embossing Powder. The Ribbon is a scrap that I had from a gift.

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by. I appreciate each one of you and pray that your day will be filled with joy and blessing.

Hugs,

Deb

Today's customer spotlight is brought to us by Vanessa Fernandez. Vanessa used the Sew Happy Cocoa digi for her card. This sweet cocoa is also available in a clear stamp set. I love the hand stitching on the card and the needle and cloth embellishment add the perfect touch.

Just Because...

Hi there! Today is my last post as a Guest Designer for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps! I just love the ladies there and Korin is so sweet and so very talented! Thanks to everyone at Sweet 'n Sassy for asking me to join them...I had so much fun!

Today, I am sharing a card that's "Just Because"! And 'just because' I think he's so cute, I got this little Benjamin Bunny digi stamp this week! He's colored with Copics (of course) and surrounded by some pretty pink pearls! I kept the layout pretty simple for this one...a sweet gingham bow and a strip of cardstock that coordinates with my background paper! The sentiment is from Verve.

Be sure to stop by the Sweet 'n Sassy store to see all the new release coming out soon!

Love you lots

I used Jacob Loves Reading, a new digi image over at the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps store! Paired it with a sentiment from Birds & Roses. Hard to see but there is piercing on the edges of the background. Copics were used to color Jacob.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Pamper Me Cookie

Hello! For today's card I am using the newly released digi, Pamper me Cookie. I'm so glad that Cocoa now as a "friend" to keep him company! ;0)

My card is 5 1/2 x 5 3/4. I needed a big card so that I could fit all of my goodies on it.I added Glossy accents to the nail polish bottle and the lipstick, really makes them pop! I took a paper doily and cut it in half and folded it to make my fan. Added a feather, a triple bow & button to finish it off. I'm thinking this will make a cute card to add a gift certificate for a manicure or pedicure to give to a girlfriend or a sister ??!! I left the bottom right corner empty for now so that I can add a sentiment later.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!!

New Mercies

Sorry for the late post today.....time got away from me......

For my card, I used one of our older stamp sets, Everyday Miracles (which also happens to come in digi form), coupled with a new set, New Creature, being released February 1st. I just love butterflies.....they are one of God's most interesting and beautiful creatures. A big, fat, and sometimes ugly caterpillar turning into something so magnificent is such a beautiful picture of what happens to a person when they come to Christ. I can't wait to get to Heaven and see all the "butterflies" there :)! What a glorious and beautiful place it will be :)!!

The paper I used for this card is called Gossamer by Memory Box. I had been sort of hoarding it for a while, but finally decided to break it out so the rest of you could enjoy it's splendor :).

Have a blessed day!

Customer spotlight Sunday

Happy Lord's day Sunday and welcome to this week's customer spotlight. Our super cool project today is shared with us today by Jan Ennengna AKA Janaria on Christian Papercrafts. Jan used our Puppy Love digital set for her card. She created created her whole card digitally, including making the background paper and coloring in the image! I think the card came out awesome and I sure wish I was that good at using computer programs. She explains how she created her card HERE if you would like to learn more about it.

A look at the inside of the card

Thank you Jan for sharing your wonderful card with us today!

Friends are the marshmallows...

...in the cocoa of life! I love that little sentiment! And I love Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Cocoa Mouse too! Isn't he so sweet peeking out of this adorable snowflake mug?!

This great image and sentiment are from the Sweet 'n Sassy Cup of Cocoa clear stamp set. I colored Cocoa a little darker this time, and masked the candy cane coming out of the mug so it didn't stamp. I also added another marshmallow in it's place. I used Copic markers and highlighted the snowflakes on the mug with some Diamond Stickles! He's cut out using a Spellbinders die and it's hard to see in the photo, but there is a layer of purple cut with a Martha Stewart snowflake edge punch. As always, a little ribbon and pearls...

I followed the Sweet Stop Sketch #92 for this week! Check it out...here! Have a great weekend and thanks for taking a peek!

Whoooo Loves You

Have you checked out the new pre-colored digis from Sweet 'n Sassy? They are just wonderful and the perfect solution for quick and easy creating!

This darling owl image is actually part of an image that includes two owls but for today's card...I wanted just the one, dressed in blue, which was a perfect match for my wintery-themed designer paper.

The name of this image is Winter Love Owls and as I said it includes a girlie owl, who only has eyes for Mr. Handsome. This image is now available for download for only $4.00! Download, print, and finish a card in less than a half hour! How divine...

Serene Blessings

Hi everyone, sorry this is late but I am filling for one of the divas- little mix up. I have a very simple, quick card to show you today and I hope you like it.

I sponged blue ink using my oval nestie die as a stencil then simply stamped my silhouette image in the center of the oval. Add a sentiment and some ribbon and all set! The beautiful image is my from one of my favorite sets called Serene Silhouettes. It is so versatile- can be used for both male/female, and just about any occasion. It contains 4 main silhouette images and accessory stamps to go with it.

Thanks so much for stopping in, have a blessed day!

Turtle Thank You!

Good Morning!

Today I have a circle card with cute Turtle from Gifts from Turtle clear stamp set (these sweet images are also availabe in digi format). I wanted to try a new Copic coloring technique, called Stippling. It's basically dotting the colors on... First I colored the image the usual way, then did some stippling. What do you think?

To make my circle base, I used Lacey Circle die from Spellbinders (I also used Circle and Rectangle dies). The texture plate is Swiss Dots from Cuttlebug. I am still smitten with beads, so I added some to the end of the white thread that's tied to the button.

The cute sketch came from The Sweet Stop, SSS91. I just used it on a circle shape.
Thank you for visiting!

The Best is Yet to Be...

Hi there! Hope you are having a great start to your weekend! I'm working today, but I wanted to share another Sweet 'n Sassy card with you! I'm having a great time being a Guest Designer and showing off their great stamps!

I love this open butterfly from the Everyday Miracles stamp set and I paired it up with these great colors from the Color Throwdown this week. I colored it with Copics and cut it out using the Spellbinders circle dies. I followed the Sweet Sunday sketch, but realized I probably should have stamped my butterfly a little higher in my circle. Oh well, I kept this one pretty simple...not too much embellishing since the beauty is really in the image! My sentiment is from the Love Sentiments set.

I hope you have a great day and stop by the Sweet 'n Sassy store to see what's new!

Hi there! I hope you are having a wonderful start to your weekend! I'll be taking a class today at my local stamp store...and a little shopping might happen while I'm there too!

You get the image and five sentiments with the clear stamp set or you can get the image as a digi...it's up to you! I love coloring Cocoa and I've used the theme from the Crazy 4 Cocoa Challenge called New Year's resolution...mine is to keep in touch better with my friends. What better way than to send them an adorable card! I've also used the sketch from today's Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge which was a perfect fit for my image. It's and all out Sweet 'n Sassy card, huh!

Cocoa and his latte are colored with Copics and layered atop these sweet papers from the Penny Lane collection by My Mind's Eye. I used a bit of KI Memories ribbon, some pearls, a Prima flower and a button tied with some vintage seam binding!

Snow Special

Hello! Today's card uses the newly released Snow Special set. I just Love snowmen!! This one is alot of fun to color.

I cut out my snowman and popped him up on a panel that I had softly sponged in matching colors. I embossed and than sanded my background DP, it made the snowflakes really pop. I like the distressed feel it gave too. Then I added some more texture by adding some flowersoft to his ear muffs! I love the soft girly feel of this card.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!!

Sparkly Snowman

I decided to play along with a couple of the challenges on Splitcoast with my card. The technique challenge was to use stickles to paint your image and the color challenge was to use the colors red, white, and grey/silver. So, I combined the two and came up with the super sparkly, super cute snowman. This adorable image was just released and is called Snow Special. The strip at the bottom was stamped using the brand new snowflake background stamp.

Here is a close up of all the sparkle

There is a terrific sale going on right now in the Sweet N Sassy store. You will want to check it out if you have not already.

Thanks for visiting today!

I Love You SNOW Much!

Hi there! It's a new year and a new day and this is my first post as a new Guest Designer here at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps! I am so excited to join this awesome group of ladies for the month of January!

Today, I am sharing a card I made for my hubby using the new Snow Special stamp set. I was going for a more masculine feel for this one, so I chose this great snowflake paper by Jillibean Soup and paired it up with red and brown. Kraft is so popular right now and these colors are perfect for this snowman and my hubby.

My snowman is colored with Copics, cut out and popped up using pop dots. I cut my 'snowflake' using the Spellbinders Lotus pendant and the heart is a die by My Favorite Things. A couple of pearls and a bit of Distress Stickles added to the snowman's coat trim and the centers of the snowflakes on the background paper and it's done! The sentiment is one of the four you get with this adorable set!

Check out the Sweet 'n Sassy store for all of the new sets...and have a Happy New Year!
