God made you special....

...and He loves you very much.  Are those words familiar to you?  My kids were huge Veggie Tales fans and even now that they've out grown the sweet singing/acting vegetables, they will still watch them once in awhile or sing a silly song.  Well, with the great line up of new releases this month, the sentiment (used on my card) from One of a Kind reminded me of Bob's wise words.

God did make you for a special purpose and I truly believe that in the way we treat each other, love our families and worship Him is a glimpse of the person He is molding you to be.  Our real potential will never fully be developed until we are in Heaven with Him, but I think that here on earth we certainly should be practicing.

You can practice by just saying a little prayer for a friend, or helping a child see the awe of Creation or just being kind enough to create a card for someone special.  So go ahead... practice!

Many hugs & blessings,
Melissa

February Guest Designers

Hi everyone! Well, we have made it through the first month of 2011. Are you still writing 2010 on things? It tends to take me a bit to get out of that habit. I am excited to announce the 2 ladies who will be joining us for the month of February. First, I need to say a fond farewell to our January guest designers and one of our DT members who is moving on.

Thank you to Jennifer Taylor and Pattie Goldman for doing a fabulous job during January. Your cards were beautiful ladies and I really enjoyed them! I would also like to say farewell to Jacquie Peifer who has done a great job designing for us the past 3 months. She is moving on to pursue some other crafting avenues and we wish her the best of luck. Thank you Jacquie for sharing your beautiful designs with us!

The two creative ladies joining us for February are Denise Modin and Claudine Poch. Below, is a little more information about both of them.

Claudine Poch- My name is Claudine Poch (sevencats on Splitcoaststampers.) I live in Ohio with my husband, son, and cats. I have been doing crafts almost my whole life, and paper crafts for about five years. I enjoy making cards, particularly those that contain “critters”, such as cats and dogs. Most of my cards are sold to benefit the no-kill animal shelter where I volunteer. I am currently serving on a few other design teams and am excited to be a guest designer for Sweet n Sassy Stamps.

Denise Modin- Hi! My name is Denise (a.k.a. Denimo) and I live in a wonderful little college town in Lawrence, Kansas, USA. I'm a mom, grandma and dog lover/owner of one black great dane. And I absolutely love card-making. I love how we take a plain piece of card stock, add a stamped or digital image, color it up, create a layout and end up with something wonderful! I've been stamping for probably about 10 years now, but just seriously the last 2-3 years. I take lots of inspiration from many other wonderful artists and hope I can provide a little along the way.

Throughout the month of February, Denise will be sharing her creations with us on Tuesday (except the 1st) and Claudine will be sharing on Saturdays. I look forward to seeing all the awesome designs that they will be inspiring us with! Please join me in welcoming both Denise and Claudine.

You will want to stop by tomorrow as it is release day here at Sweet N Sassy stamps! There are 5 terrific stamps sets that will be available and Korin is going to have some card samples to share with us featuring the new releases.

He Lives

This beautiful image is a sneak peek from one of the sets in the February Release from Sweet' n Sassy Stamps. It's called 'He Lives' and the sentiment is a Eureka Stamp. I thought that is was so fitting to put them together.
I mounted this on a piece of chipboard so it could be hung or placed on a stand. It looks like navy blue in this picture but it is really mounted on Elegant Eggplant. I placed each crystal and pearl on one at a time to make my own design.
This wonderful patterned paper is from Prima Marketing and is called ' Fairy Flora'. I wanted to achieve a sunrise effect and matched the ink for the sponging around the cross.
I will display this during the Easter season. I am so thankful for life in Christ. I don't know where I'd be without Him. I hope that this honors Him.

Recipe
Stamps: He Lives, Eureka Stamps
Ink: Adirondack Espresso, Mauve Mist, Bashful Blue, Daffodil Delight, Baja Breeze
Paper: Elegant Eggplant, Georgia Pacific White, Fairy Flora
Accessories: Copic Markers, 0, W0, W1, V0000, V000, V09, V12, V15, V17, E19, E21, E30, E31, E34, E37. Lilac and Lipstick Spica Glitter Pens. Swarovski Crystals, Kaiser Kraft Pearls, Martha Stewart Border Punch Arched Lattice, Stampin Dimensional, Plumb Perfection Embossing Powder. The Ribbon is a scrap that I had from a gift.

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by. I appreciate each one of you and pray that your day will be filled with joy and blessing.

Hugs,

Deb
