Warm Wishes

Hello and Happy Monday! Hope you had a great weekend. We sure had a beautiful one here in PA but I know winter will be here before we know it!

For today's card I used the adorable snowman from the Welcome Jesus set. I just love this snowman!! He is also available as a digi, Smiley Snowman. I used the Warm Wishes sentiment from the Waddle I do? set, thought maybe this could be used for a Winter Birthday card??! I paper pieced his scarf to match my card.

Thanks for dropping by and I hope you have a great week!!

Waiting!

I had a long conversation with a friend the other day about how much she wanted a certain thing in her life and how weary she was waiting.  As we talked it was obvious that it was a very important request but she wasn't even really praying about it, instead she was just "expecting" God to meet the need.

Do you know that God loves to hear from us?  He loves to hear from us more than just in our times of troubles.  If you think about it, your relationship with your spouse would be rough without communication.  If you ignored your spouse and only talked them as often as you do God, how strong would your marriage be?  Would your spouse feel deserted by you, used only when you had a crisis, or completely loved and communicated with?

One of the greatest keys to the Christian life is waiting on the Lord and having the faith that He hears you and knows what's best.  He promises if we wait on Him, He will give us the strength to keep going!

I used the Renewed Strength stamp set and really love that Korin used an eagle with the verse, Isaiah 40:31.  I also love the fact that this set makes great masculine type cards.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Mums

Hello! Today I have a bright, cheery card to share with you using the newly released Chrysanthemums. Have any of you seen the movie series Anne Of Green Gables? I love those movies...but there is one part where Anne and Gilbert are competeing in a spelling bee and everyone spells Chrysanthemum wrong, except Anne so she wins:) Anyway...I colored my flowers with Copics and did some piercing to frame the image. I hope you are having a good week, God bless!

Vintage Santa

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing a quick and easy card I created using a soon-to-be-released image from a brand new holiday set! Isn't this the cutest santa image? Once I had him colored I knew I had to go vintage so I got to work first on aging my cardstock. I did that by adding some faux stitching using a sewing tool and creates small indents in the cardstock and then using Distress Ink to add a bit of brown ink to the edges of my image panel.

This sweet image is paired with lovely vintage paper from Kaiser Craft, some twine, and a tiny sage colored snowflake. The open scallops on the top and bottom of my middle band were created using a Martha Stewart punch. The sentiment, which I think has a vintage looking font, stamped in black finished off my card! I should also mention that this is an unusual card size, measuring 3.25" x 5.5"...it was a piece of kraft cardstock that, folded in half, became the perfect card base for Mr. Claus...love when that happens. :-)

Enjoy and keep your eyes peeled for the announcement of all the new sets!!

Warm Hugs

Eeeks! It's about time to be thinking about preparing for winter!!  I'm not ready. . .I'm not even ready to think about getting ready! LOL!  But, I do have this adorable snowman stamp set, Love You This Much, from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps that makes you believe snow is a good thing!  The snowman is just adorable right?!

I did some paper piecing for his coat with some fun houndstooth paper.  The colors are a bit unexpected but I had several pieces of patterned paper in front of me with a green, red and brown color scheme and thought it looked neat!  The layout is my take on this week's CPS sketch.

I love the sentiments that come with this set - different fonts, different sizes and layouts make it very versatile.  Warm Hugs just seemed appropriate!  Wherever you are today, I hope you're warm!  Have a great day!
