Vintage Santa

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing a quick and easy card I created using a soon-to-be-released image from a brand new holiday set! Isn't this the cutest santa image? Once I had him colored I knew I had to go vintage so I got to work first on aging my cardstock. I did that by adding some faux stitching using a sewing tool and creates small indents in the cardstock and then using Distress Ink to add a bit of brown ink to the edges of my image panel.

This sweet image is paired with lovely vintage paper from Kaiser Craft, some twine, and a tiny sage colored snowflake. The open scallops on the top and bottom of my middle band were created using a Martha Stewart punch. The sentiment, which I think has a vintage looking font, stamped in black finished off my card! I should also mention that this is an unusual card size, measuring 3.25" x 5.5"...it was a piece of kraft cardstock that, folded in half, became the perfect card base for Mr. Claus...love when that happens. :-)

Enjoy and keep your eyes peeled for the announcement of all the new sets!!

Warm Hugs

Eeeks! It's about time to be thinking about preparing for winter!!  I'm not ready. . .I'm not even ready to think about getting ready! LOL!  But, I do have this adorable snowman stamp set, Love You This Much, from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps that makes you believe snow is a good thing!  The snowman is just adorable right?!

I did some paper piecing for his coat with some fun houndstooth paper.  The colors are a bit unexpected but I had several pieces of patterned paper in front of me with a green, red and brown color scheme and thought it looked neat!  The layout is my take on this week's CPS sketch.

I love the sentiments that come with this set - different fonts, different sizes and layouts make it very versatile.  Warm Hugs just seemed appropriate!  Wherever you are today, I hope you're warm!  Have a great day!

Cocoa's Santa Hat

I printed the cute Cocoa image onto Neenah white cardstock. This is a new digi for October called Cocoa's Santa hat. But...all you clear stamp lovers- you just might see him as a stamp set very soon (hint hint). I colored him with copics, added stickles to the white trim of the hat and then sprayed it, along with the patterned papers, with dazzling diamonds glimmer mist. Truthfully it would have just been easier to print the image onto white sparkle but oh well. The edges were stitched and rhinestones were added to the corners. The awesome layout for my card is the sweet stop sketch for this week. An added bonus too- this week is the sketch with a spin which is sparkle and that means a prize is up for grabs. Hope you can play along!

here is a close up for you where you can see the flecks of sparkle. You can also see some of the small blobs which is why I prefer sparkle paper rather than the glimmer mist.

Thanks for dropping by, I hope that you all have a fabulous day!

Customer spotlight Sunday

Happy Lord's day Sunday and welcome to another customer spotlight. Today I am pleased to share an adorable card created by Anita Autore.

This cute image that Anita used is available both as a clear stamp set called I'd pick you and as a digi called Furry Friends. I love how Anita chose to use just the rabbit from the image and omitted the mouse. How creative and versatile so you can customize your image to work for your project! I also love how she fringed some paper to create grass- very clever.

There are many great Sweet N Sassy stamps cards to be seen on Anita's blog. I also love a paper pieced hippo card that she made as well.

Thank you Anita for letting us share your card today!

And remember, if you'd like us to showcase one of your creations, leave us a comment with a link back to your project...maybe yours will be next!

Have a blessed day!

Thanks A Latte!

Happy Saturday to you!

With the cooler weather I'm enjoying flavored coffee.  I've never really been into the flavored creamers but Coffee Mate has one out called Peppermint Mocha that we decided to try and it's now a favorite.  I have to also admit that I've had a gift card to Starbucks for awhile too and just used it.  They have a Pumpkin Spice Latte that is so yummy and creamy that it tastes like pumpkin pie!  With cool weather and warm coffee on the brain I decided to use Cocoa's Latte for my card above!  I think this is one of my favorite Cocoa's!

Mental Note:  Did you know....
that it's just 40 days until Thanksgiving and 70 days until Christmas?

With Christmas in mind, here's one more card using Christmas Bear.  This bear is so cute and I added stripes to the hat!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

For My Sweet Pumpkin

I don't know about you but I think candy corn is such a fun fall treat, so I decided to make a quick fall gift using an empty Prima flower jar filled with candy corn. I stamped one of the pumpkins from our adorable fall stamp set, Sweet Pumpkin, to add a bit more sweetness to the jar. The jack-o-lanterns in this set are full of smiles....when you see them, you can't help but smile, too!

Here's a close up of the lid which reads "For my sweet pumpkin". Too cute!

The great thing about quick projects like this is you can use up some of those scraps you've had lying around for a while. How adorable would it be to pair this gift up with a small matching gift card :)? Love it!

Wishing you a fabulous Fall day full of sweet treats :)!

Poinsettias in Pink

Hello everyone.
Thank you for stopping by today. I am honored to be a Sweet' N Sassy Stamps design team member and today I want to share yet another BEAUTIFUL flower image by Leah Cornelius. I just love her work. Leah's flowers lend themselves so well to coloring with any medium. My favorite medium is Copic Markers. I used RV000, Rv00, R81, R83, R85, R89, G21, G24, G40, G94 G99, Y 15, Y17, O, W0, W1. I then sponged around the image with Distressed Ink Antique Linen and sprayed it with Vanilla Smooch Spritz. The sentiment is from Fancy Flexible Phrases by Stampin Up. I used Wild Wasibi and Rose Red card stock and layered with My Mind's Eye and Making Memories designer paper. The punch is a Martha Stewart border punch and of course I had to add bling with my Swarovski Crystals and a touch of Rose ribbon finishes it off. The sketch is from Splitcoast. SCS301 sketch challenge.

Please stop by Sweet' N Sassy Stamps to see all of the wonderful images Korin and the girls have for you.

Thank you again for stopping by and have a lovely day.

God Bless,
Deb
