July Guest Designers

My goodness, where has another month gone? It's hard to believe that it's already July 1st and we have to bit a fond farewell to our June guest designers, Peggy McCurry and Silvia Mabie. Peggy and Silvia, thank you so much for sharing your creative talents with us this month! We've enjoyed getting to know you!!

And now I'm happy to introduce you to our amazing July designers, Marisa Ritzen and Janice Melton! You can read more about these talented ladies below:

My name is Marisa Ritzen. I live in beautiful, British Columbia, Canada, with my husband and two kids. I run a home-based, before and after school daycare and love to stamp in my free time. I started stamping about six years ago when I needed some “mommy time” while my kids were preschoolers. Though I am not naturally creative, I have always enjoyed working with my hands, so the journey of developing and expanding my stamping skills has been more rewarding than I could have ever imagined.

Hello! My name is Janice Melton (catcrazy on SCS). I am currently a stay at home Mom. I live in south central Pennsylvania with my wonderful husband Roger, our 2 teenage sons (13 & 17), 11 cats and 1 dog. I started out scrapbooking about 8 years ago but got sidetracted when I discovered card making about 3 years ago! I enjoy doing card challenges and learning new techniques. I am so excited to be one of the guest designers for the month of July!!

Please join me in welcoming Marisa and Janice to our guest designer team!!

My grace is sufficient...

Wow! We had such a fun time at the Release Party last night! So many beautiful cards were showcased by the design team! I feel so lucky to be a part of these fabulous women who have come together to promote Christ through our papercrafting. In the next week ahead, no doubt, you'll see our creations pop up on this blog or you can go take a look on SNR where the party was held.

Here is my card for today's post! I used the wonderful stamp set called "Amazing Grace" and I just love all the verses and sentiments included. This is a perfect set for any occasion! Take a moment to go to the Sweet 'n Sassy store and see all the latest additions.

May God Bless you everyday!  (UPDATE: This card will be published in the August 2010 Scrapbook News and Review Magazine!)
Hugs, Darsie

Everything's Coming Up Flowers

Hi Everyone! Happy Tuesday!
Today is my last post as a Guest Diva here at Sweet 'n Sassy Digis. It has been so much fun playing!
It has been an honor to work with such fabulous images!

For my card today I used Flower Pot Girl. She is such a cutie. I couldn't resist coloring her up! All the coloring is done with Copics.  I added some sparkle with various colors of atYou Spica pens. The layout is from this weeks Card Patterns Sketch Challenge.

Enjoy!!

Happy Summer!

Happy Summer, everybody!

It sure has swung into full gear at my house! I'd love to be like little Cocoa here, and peeking around a great big slice of sweet, juicy watermelon. Mmmmmm..... :-) Somehow watermelon always makes me think of the 4th of July and picnics and parades.

Cocoa and his sentiment are both from the new clear set called Feeling Fruity Cocoa. Be sure to grab a set for yourself to make some sweet summery cards!!

Blessings!

Tricia

Customer Spotlight Sunday

Greetings everyone and welcome to another Customer Spotlight Sunday! This week I came across the most beautiful card created by Janice Melton, isn't it fabulous!?

Janice used one of my all time favorite SNSS stamp sets, the newly released Everyday Miracles set. (This set comes with two butterfly images and four sentiments for only $11.00.) I love how Janice dry embossed the background, leaving it white with just a hint of dimension coming from the tiny pearls in the center of each flower. What a great way to showcase her beautiful butterfly...the colors are amazing and pop so well off of the background. I also love the tiny bit of black on this card, it provide the perfect separation between the white and teal layers.

Great card Janice, thank you so much for letting us share your creation this week!

Praying for you!

Can I just say that I am VERY SAD that this is my last post as a guest designer here with Sweet N Sassy Stamps! :( I love the images and all the nice fun people over here! Thank you so much for having me, it was an honor!

Now onto my card!

I used the stamp set Praying for You, I love the font that this digi set uses! I simply printed the sentiment on a piece of vanilla cardstock and then used my biggest nesties label 9 to cut it out. The designer paper below from the marrakech paper pack by Basic Grey and thebutton is also from Basic Grey. To finish it off I simply added a large prima and some black gingham ribbon...can you say YUMMY!
I love the simplicity of this image and how the sentiment can stand alone without an image.
Supplies:
Stamps: Praying for you digi image
Ink: none
Paper: kiwi kiss, vanilla, tangerine tango, marrakech DP by Basic Grey
Accessories: fancy scallop punch, black gingham ribbon, nesties label 9, prima flower, basic grey buttons
Thank you sooo much for stopping by!
Thanks again for having me!
Hugs and happy stampin'

Up, Up, and Away...

In my beautiful, my beautiful balloon...Anyone remember that song or am I really dating myself?

Happy Friday everyone, are you all ready for the weekend? I'm looking forward to a few quiet days but before I depart from blog land, I wanted to share this darling Hot Air Balloon digi image that Leah created a few weeks ago. I've been itching to color it and make it into a card! I thought that this week's Digi Day Challenge of using pink and orange would be perfect hot air balloon colors! I also added a few white gel polka dots to the top of the balloon...Now all I need are some fluffy white felt clouds I keep seeing on other's cards... ;-)

I'm not sure where the designer paper is from, it's some that I had in my stash, but the rhinestones are from Kaiser, image was colored with Copics, and the layout is from Mojo Monday.

Enjoy!!
